Kalesa カレサ

At the background was a Kalesa/Calesa. Introduced to our country Philippines by the Spaniards in the 18th century… it is a horse drawn carriage used as a common transportation during that time.

But nowadays of continuous forth of change in technology century by century… Out forth day by day new models of cars and ways of easy transportation. But as for Kalesa, as a need… began to fade as well. Nowadays Kalesa is remembered in books or use as decors in Hotels, and it will soon be the most valuable treasure in Museums in the future.

I intentionally focused the new bloomed flower over the Kalesa because its what I see it nowadays… People gets most of their attention to new things, new technology, new trend… as somethings are left unaware and slowly began to fade, and unconsciously we tend to forget the things that we had before.

I hope this will serve as a reminder that there are treasures that we still need to remember, to appreciate, and value its existence.

The things that we have today is actually because of what we had before.
